Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 for Aaron H. Crosby, Jr., 79 of Seminary who passed away on Wednesday, April 05, 2017 at the Covington County Nursing Center in Collins.
Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the service with interment to follow in the Crosby Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 07, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Houston Jones, Keith Bullock, Jimmy Jordan, Jim Crosby, Wayne Bullock, and Mason Stringer.
Mr. Crosby was born on March 29, 1938 in Seminary, Mississippi. He was a member of Seminary Baptist Church. He taught English and was the Librarian at the Seminary High School until his retirement. Mr. Crosby initiated the committee to build the Seminary Library. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pinebelt Regional Library for many years. Mr. Crosby was a member of the Covington County Historical and Genealogical Society, and a member of the Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims. He was a huge supporter of the Seminary Founders Day.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Harrison and Winnie Jones Crosby; one brother, Harry Crosby; one sister, Margaret Crosby; and one nephew, Jeff Parker.
Survivors include his five brothers; Jack Crosby and his wife, Iris of Seminary, Hershel Crosby, and his wife, Joan of Tohatchi, New Mexico, David Crosby of Eastabuchie, Freddy Crosby, and his wife, Wanda of Eastabuchie, and Steve Crosby of Seminary; two sisters, Mollie Crosby Bullock and her husband, Charles of Seminary, and Hilda Crosby Parker of Seminary; and a host of nieces and nephews.
