A memorial service will be held at a later date for Albert LeRoy Baxter, 71 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his residence.
Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Baxter was born on May 15, 1945 in Live Oak, Florida. He was a retired welder and mechanic. Mr. Baxter proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geneva Brown Baxter; one sister, Charlotte Rowelson; and three brothers, William Baxter, Jimmie C. Baxter, and James R. Baxter.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Barbara Jean Porter Baxter of Collins; four daughters, Patricia Jean Tyson of Blakely, Georgia, Pamela Hollingsworth of Albany, Louisiana, Barbara Leggett of Collins, and LaDonna Pool of Alabama; five sons, Truman Glover, Jr., of Florida, David P. Glover of Blakely, Georgia, Stephen Glover and Joe Glover, both of Albany, Louisiana, and Quinton Baxter of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers, John E. Baxter and Kenneth Baxter, both of Florida; thirty grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
