Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Union South Baptist Church for Allie Marie Smith Brooks, 92 of Seminary, who passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Dr. Barry Armstrong will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Mary Anne Sanford, Mr. Jeremy Johnson, and Mr. Robert Hedgepath. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Barrett, Stacey Barrett, Jeremy Barrett, Mikey Barrett, Darrel Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Josh Brooks, Roy "Bubba" Dickerson, III, and Chuck Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be C.J. Brooks, Caiden Crocker, and Bryson Crocker.

Mrs. Brooks was born on December 16, 1924 in Smith County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Brooks worked for fifteen years at Reliance Manufacturing, Inc. in Hattiesburg. She then went to work as a certified nurse's aide for the Happy Acres Nursing Home in Hattiesburg. She was a member of the Union South Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Louvinia Craft Smith; her husband, E'Van Brooks; an stillborn infant son, Charles Emerson Brooks; two step sons, Paul Brooks, and Jim Brooks; two brothers; five sisters; and a son-in-law, Mike Barrett.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Barrett of Seminary; three sons, Roy Dickerson of Tupelo, Homer Brooks and his wife, Teresa of Seminary, and Oliver Brooks and his wife, Mary of Moselle; two step daughters, Maudean Bamfield and her husband, John of Fort Worth, Texas, and Nell Weiss and her husband, George of Mobile, Alabama; fourteen grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
