Analyn Arrington Goff
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Collins, for Analyn Arrington Goff, 89 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Dr. Hal Hood, Dr. Joseph Bird, Reverend Timothy Beard, and Reverend Tommy Shields will officiate at the services with a private family interment at the Collins City Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mr. Drew Warford and Mr. James Arrington Goff. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi, 39428 and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Collins, 303 South 4th Street, Collins, Mississippi, 39428.
Her pallbearers will be Jimmy Pickering, Tal Pickering, Eddie Gibson, Michael Gibson, Mark Speed, Alfredo Hernandez, Cliff Kelly, David Shoemake, Roman Shoemake, and Noah Sanford. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mississippi Press Association.
Mrs. Goff was born on September 17, 1936, in Collins, Mississippi to James Duncan Arrington Sr. and Alyne Rogers Arrington. She was a graduate of Collins High School Class of 1955 and earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Mississippi College. Mrs. Goff retired from the Covington County School System after thirty years of service in the administrative office. Her family owned and operated the News Commercial Newspaper in Collins where she served as publisher and executive editor of Our South Magazine. Mrs. Goff was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collins. She attended the Ladies Outreach Sunday School Class. Mrs. Goff was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-seven years, James Rodgers Goff; and her brother and sister-in-law, James D. “Jamie” Arrington Jr. and Judy Miley Arrington.
Survivors include one son, James Arrington Goff of Collins; one daughter, Analyn R. “Anna” Goff of Collins; one sister Jeannie Arrington Gooch (Dr. Albert S. Gooch) of Flat Rock, North Carolina; one niece, Alyson Gooch Thorn; two nephews, Tres Gooch and James D. “Jay” Arrington, III; two great nephews, Jeremiah Thorn and Caleb Thorn; and two great nieces, Sarah Thorn, and Jaylin Arrington; and a host of other family members and friends.
