Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church for Anita Joy Bullock Fairchild, 87 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at her daughter's residence in Canton.

Reverend Brian Dickens and Reverend West Garner will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pauline Lightsey, Mrs. Marilyn Saulters, and Mrs. Babette Duty. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral and from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kane Fairchild, Grant Evans, Gage Evans, Tyler Fairchild, Tristan Fairchild, Trevor Fairchild, Bo Rouse, Brandon Hawes, Chase Rouse, Drew Siebenkittel, Dylan Siebenkittel, and Dawson Siebenkittel. Honorary pallbearers will be Holt Saulters, Drew Clark, and the Deacons of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fairchild was born on February 4, 1930 in Ellisville, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Fairchild was a lifelong member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church where she was active in the Sr. Ladies Sunday School Class, Women's Missionary Union, and was the Vacation Bible School Director for numerous years just to name a few. She was a devoted member and state representative of the Veterans Outreach Program at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins. Mrs. Fairchild was a lifetime member and former president of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She was a member of numerous organizations including Beta Sigma Phi Chapter Xi, the Covington County Red Hat Society, and the Covington County Historical and Genealogical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Lamar Bullock and Ivah Jane McGrew Bullock; her husband, Roscoe Fairchild; one son, Darrell Fairchild; one brother, N.T. Bullock, and a grandson, Jamie Jemison.

Survivors include three daughters, Anita Faye Fairchild Jemison of Canton, Jane Fairchild Lyon and her husband, Paul of Madison, and Barbara Fairchild Evans and her husband, Bobby of Germantown , Tennessee; two sons, Carroll Fairchild and his wife, Vicci of Slidell, Louisiana, and Charles D. Fairchild of Collins; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Fairchild of Collins; one sister, Iris Bullock Crosby, and her husband, Jack of Seminary; two brothers, L.B. Bullock, and his wife, Ann of Decatur, and Marlton Bullock, and his wife, Shirley of Branch, Louisiana; a sister-in-law, Jane Bullock of Collins; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
