Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Annie Lou Matheny, 93 of Sumrall, who passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Jessie W. Warren will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Aultman Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Brock, Joseph Davis, Roger Dyess, John Wallace, Ray Reid, and Paul Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Billy Quick, Timothy Davis, and Dakota Brock.
Mrs. Matheny was born on October 5, 1924 in Sumrall, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Matheny spent her life investing in her family and had a deep love for them. She also enjoyed growing and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Matheny was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Sumrall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo Warren and Tamer Aultman Warren; her husband, James Matheny; one brother, J.M. Warren; and one sister, Hazel Strohauer.
Survivors include three daughters, Patsy Mooney of Seminary, Sherry McRaney and Tammy Davis (Jerry), both of Sumrall; two sons, Billy Quick and Paul Matheny (Lita), both of Sumrall; 15 Grandchildren; 33 Great-Grandchildren; and 13 Great Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
