Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing in his 1955 Chevrolet and the outdoors mostly in his younger years. When Archie was able get out and work, he could fix anything and was always there for his family. As he got older he enjoyed teaching Sunday School at Williamsburg Baptist Church and spending time with his family, mostly his grandchildren. Archie worked at Miller Transporters Inc. for forty-four years and he always had lots of tales to tell. Even though he couldn't get out to visit due to his health he always made phone calls to check on folks.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gale Hosey Stroud; one son Terry Stroud; his parents Buford D. and Alma Ruth Wade Stroud; and his sister Shelia Stroud Bowman.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Anna Molis Stroud of Collins; two sons, Jyntre Stroud (Cathy) of Collins and Daniel Salinas (Coco) of Kemah, Texas; two daughters, Michelle Stroud Jordan of Collins, and Suzanna Salinas of Collins; one brother, Byron Stroud (Fran) of Elton, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, Malachi Jordan, James Jordan, Shane Burke, Trevor Stroud, Chasity Blackwell, Kimber Almond, Noah Salinas, Elaina Salinas, Scarlette Salinas, and Anamaria Salinas; and a host of great-grandchildren and other family members.
