Arlene Lewis Esser

(August 15, 1954 – May 2, 2025)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Arlene Lewis Esser, 70 of Hattiesburg, who passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Reverend Chad MacDonald will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Esser, Justin Esser, Matt Esser, Brandon Esser, Austin Esser, and Caleb Esser.

Arlene was born on August 15, 1954, in Collins, Mississippi to John Edward Lewis and Ruth Onolia Shoemake Lewis.  She was a graduate of the Collins High School Class of 1972.  Arlene was a member of the Baptist faith.  She was a loving wife, mother, and Mimi. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edward Lewis and Ruth Onolia Shoemake Lewis.

Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Bryan Esser of Hattiesburg, MS; three sons, Justin Esser, and his wife, Jennifer of Sumrall, Matt Esser of Hattiesburg, Brandon Esser of Ft. Worth, Texas; five grandchildren, Austin Esser, Caleb Esser, Aubrey Esser, Maddie Esser, and Skylar Esser; one brother, John Edward Lewis, Jr. of Aiken, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members..
