Barbara Ward Kennedy

(March 17, 1947 – October 31, 2023)

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Blakeley Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Barbara Ward Kennedy, 76 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the Jefferson Davis Care Facility in Prentiss, Mississippi.

Reverend Tony McDonald will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Blakeley Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mr.  Luke Williams.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mrs. Kennedy was born on March 1, 1947 in Covington County, Mississippi to Garvis and Nell Smith Ward.  She graduated from Collins High School and Jones County Junior College with an Associate's of Arts Degree in Business.  Mrs. Kennedy was a homemaker by trade.  She was a loving mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Kennedy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garvis and Nell Smith Ward.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Baggett Madden, and her husband, Glenn of Collins; one son, Jeff Baggett and his wife, Jaime of Seminary; five grandchildren, Jordan Baggett, Taylor Madden, Jackson Baggett (Kaylee), Tatum Madden and Kate Faler; Great-Grandson, Finn Wilson; two brothers, Doyle Ward (Carolyn) of Hattiesburg, and Ronald Ward (Maxine) of Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
