Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Union South Baptist Church for Bettie Carter Mooney, 84 0f Seminary, who passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Interment will be in the Bullock Cemetery in Sanford. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be her family members and friends.
Mrs. Mooney was born on September 21, 1932 in Covington County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Mooney was a member of the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Gaston Carter and Mary Williams Carter; her husband of forty years, E.P. Mooney; two brothers, George Gaston Carter, Jr. and Eddie Ray Carter; and three sisters, Eva Lee Carter Austin, Sue Carter Easley, and Pauline Carter.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Mooney Eskew of Seminary; one son, E. Philip Mooney of Seminary; three sisters, Doris Carter Gardner of Petal, Bobbie Jean Carter Gardner of Sunrise, and Earlene Carter Gardner of Eastabuchie; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and thirteen great great-grandchildren.
