A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Betty Leggett Sampley Leffer, 82 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.
Reverend Timpthy Beard will officiate at the services. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive guests from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins. A small reception will be held after the memorial service at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leffer was born on August 22, 1938 in Laurel, Mississippi to Williams Jennings Leggett and Myrrh Gipson Leggett. She was a graduate of Seminary High School. Mrs. Leffer was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Leffer enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, listening to gospel music and playing Bingo in her spare time. She loved God, her family and her friends. Mrs. Leffer will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Jennings Leggett and Myrrh Gipson Leggett; her husband, Deitrich Leffer; one son, Harry Reed Sampley; a son-in-law: Douglas Neal Sanford; two brothers, Donald Leggett and Stuart Leggett; and one sister, Marion Leggett Murphy.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Ann Sampley Sanford of Collins; a daughter-in-law, Lola Sampley of Vicksburg; one grandson, Justin Sanford of Oak Grove; one great-granddaughter; Victoria Lynn Sanford of Oak Grove; one sister, Lorraine Leggett Lott, and her husband, Walter of Daytona Beach, Florida; two brothers, Charles Leggett, and his wife, Darla of Ellisville and Lewis Leggett, and his wife, Jewell of Laurel; one sister-in-law, Aline Leggett of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
