Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for Betty Sue Sartin Hardin, 91, of Mount Olive, Mississippi, died Sunday, October 24, 2021 at her residence.

Reverend Nelson Crozier will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Debbie Cone and Mrs. Angie Powell.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive.

Pallbearers will be Barrett Hardin, Lucas Boe, Philip Ponder, Brad Davis, Todd Duckworth, Jacob Hardin, Wyatt Duckworth, and Gagan Grewel.

Mrs. Hardin was born on November 28, 1929 in Mount Olive, Mississippi to Joseph Lee and Alice Johnson Sartin.  She was one of nine children.  Mrs. Hardin was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  She worked as a property abstractor for numerous years before her retirement.  She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lee Sartin and Alice Johnson Sartin; her husband, David Lee Hardin Sr.; two daughters, Peggy Hardin and Paula Hardin; and six siblings, Lucille Sartin McQueen, Joseph Lee Sartin, Lois Sartin Johnson, Floyd Sartin, Robert Sartin, and Margaret Sartin.

Survivors include two sons, David Lee Hardin, Jr., and his wife, Lynda of Laurel and Donald Wilson Hardin, and his wife, Linda of Mount Olive; two daughters, Susan Dess Hardin Kelly, and her husband, Jeff, and Nancy Ann Hardin Ponder, and her husband, Ricky, all of Mount Olive; one brother, Ken Sartin, and his wife, Mary Nell of Mount Olive; one sister, Virginia Sartin Lee, and her husband, Charles Ray of Mize; eight grandchildren, Allison, Angela, Jessica, Lindsey, Barrett, Philip, Lila, and Morgan; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jacob, Wyatt, Graham, Jase, Will, Jackson, Arthur, John Reed, Josh, Lilly, Jay, Penelope, Edmund, Lennon, Hadlee Sue, and Camilla; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
