Billy Winborn Carter, Sr.

(October 20, 1936 – August 11, 2020)

A private family celebration of life will be held for Billy Winborn Carter, 83 of Sumrall, who passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Carter was born on October 20, 1936, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  He was a loving father, son, and brother.  He served our county in the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Franklin Carter, Sr. and Lena Mae Winborn Carter; one son, Billy W. Carter, Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Wynn Carter of Sumrall and Bentley Carter of Sumrall; one daughter, Marcia Carter Graham and her husband, Donald of Sumrall; one sister, Katherine Carter Aultman of Sumrall; two brothers, Earl Franklin "Sonny" Carter, Jr. and wife, Martha of Sumrall, and Jimmy Carter of Pascagoula; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
