Billy Hugh Cranford Sr.

(December 14, 1939 – March 29, 2025)

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Collins City Cemetery for Billy Hugh Cranford Sr., 85 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at his residence.

Brother Teddy Cranford will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Thames, Billy H. "B.J." Cranford, III., Joshua Hinton, Bo Magee, Clay Magee, John Fleet Morris, Bentlee Hynum, and Malachi Magee.  Honorary pallbearer will be Logan Magee.

Mr. Cranford was born on December 14, 1939, in Collins, Mississippi to Hulon and Velna King Cranford.  He was the owner and operator of Cranford Roofing for forty-seven years.  He was a member of the Baptist faith.  Mr. Cranford was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by them all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hulon and Velna King Cranford; a step daughter, Paula Mooney; one brother, Ted Ervin Cranford; and one sister, Jeanne Cranford Duckworth.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-three years, Elise Williamson Cranford of Collins; one son, Billy Hugh Cranford Jr. (Tammy) of Collins; three daughters, Terry Thames of Seminary, Glenda Archer (Bill) of Germantown, Tennessee, and Darnell Hinton of Oak Grove; three step children, Doris Jane Bishop of Collins, Micki Yates (Danny) of Seminary, and Robert Mooney of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Anthony Thames, Brittney Thames Hicks (Brandon), Hannah Archer, Ashley Cranford Findley (Matt), Billy H. "B.J." Cranford, III, Anna Jones (Justin), and Joshua Hinton (Rachael); six great-grandchildren, Blair Hicks, Brantley Hicks, Henry Tingstrom, Wesley Findley, Addison Findley, and Cameron Morris; seven step grandchildren, Jade Graham (Sammy), Cody Hynum, Hailey Yates, Sadie Bishop, Bo Magee, Clay Magee, and John Fleet Morris (Amber); twelve step great-grandchildren, Cole Pope, Slade Pope, Reed Russell, Jordan Russell, Kloe Hynum, Bentlee Hynum, Aubrey Fairley, Logan Magee, Malachi Magee, Raeleigh Davenport, Presley Davenport, and Kallie Morris; and a host of nieces and nephews.
