Billy Wayne Dickens

(January 2, 1950 – June 17, 2022)

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Billy Wayne Dickens, 72, of Collins, who passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Brother Steve Miller and Brother Wayne Woolwine will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Dickens was born on January 02, 1950, in Laurel, Mississippi to Bill and Bobbie Evans Dickens.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother.  Billy Wayne served as a carpenter at William Carey University for 24 years until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bobbie Evans Dickens.

Survivors include his six children, Chris Dickens of Collins, Shea Dickens of Collins, Sonya Harvey (Brett) of Starkville, Stephanie Long (Byron) of Slidell, LA, Tina Dickens of Houston, TX and Christopher Dickens of Jackson; eleven grandchildren, Cotie Dickens (Dot), Dylan Dickens, Haley Dickens, Ben Harvey, Samuel Harvey, Olivia Harvey, Austin Long, Eli Long, Liam Long, Christopher Harvey and Keith Coleman; two great-grandchildren, Ben Dickens and Eli Dickens; one brother, Robin Dickens (Sharon) of Seminary; two nieces, Misty Dickens and  Jennifer Jenkins (Matthew); and one nephew, Decker Daenen.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Lott, Dylan Dickens, Christopher Dickens, and Brett Harvey.
