Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Billy Charles Windham, 87 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at his residence.
Reverend Dennis Campbell will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins with military rites at graveside. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mr. Windham was born on May 1, 1933 in Covington County, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Windham retired from the United States Army after twenty plus years of service to his country. After his retirement, he worked as a Certified Electrical Engineer for the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) at the Stennis Space Center for over twenty years. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Willie Mae Speed Windham; his wife, Roberta Parish Windham; one brother, Kent Windham; one sister, Margaret Ann Rogers; and two grandsons, Josh Dickens and Corley Dickens.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Ralph Windham of Collins, and Sam R. Windham, and his wife, Nancy of Pensacola, Florida; one daughter, Brenda Windham Carter of Collins; two brothers, John Thomas Windham of Collins and Jerry M. Windham of Mount Olive; three sisters, Mary Joyce Sullivan of Taylorsville, Peggy Dewitt of Houston, Texas, and Ellen Windham of Jackson; five grandchildren, Matthew Windham, Jacob Windham, Molly Hanson, Andrew Carter, and Austin Carter; four great-grandchildren, Bryan Dickens, Porter Dickens, Kye Payne, and Connor Burkhalter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
