Bonnie J. Bynum
(March 17, 1940 – January 16, 2026)


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Bonnie J Bynum, 85 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her residence.


Brother Randy McCraw and Mr. Brad Smith will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville.  Special music will be provided by Mr. Brad Smith.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.


The family will receive friends from from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026, and from 8:00 am until service time on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.


Pallbearers will be Clayton Bynum, Cody Bynum, Micah King, Ledrew Smith, Brad Smith, and Carl Bynum. Honorary pallbearers will be David Smith and Elijah Bynum.


Mrs. Bynum was born on March 17, 1940, to Sidney Collins "Chicken" Smith and Addie Mae Rutland Smith.  She was a homemaker by trade.  Mrs. Bynum was a member of the Or Baptist Church in Collins.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Bynum enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by them all.


She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Paul Bynum; her parents, Sidney Collins "Chicken" Smith and Addie Mae Rutland Smith; and three brothers, Oscar James Smith, Dewitt Wiley Smith, and Sidney Collins Smith, Jr.


Survivors include her two sons, Paul Terry Bynum (Mary) and Carl Bynum (Regina), both of Seminary; one daughter, Anita Bynum McCraw (Randy) of Mount Olive; one brother, Ledrew Smith (Rebecca) of Collins; seven grandchildren, Jessica Stone (Chris), James Wade McCraw (Carrie), Allison Bynum, Callie Cutway (Louie), Cody Bynum, Clayton Bynum, and Elijah Bynum; eleven great-grandchildren, India Thompson (Chandler), Samuel King (Grace), Micah King, Myah King, Brooklyn Breazeale, Paisley Breazeale, Tristan Hopkins, Ethan Hopkins (Katelyn), Logan Hopkins (Brianna), Oakley Eubanks, and Aiden Blackwell; one great great-grandchild, Keegan Hopkins and two more on the way, Baby Boy Hopkins in February and Baby Girl King in March; and a host of nieces and nephews.
