Brenda Jo Melvin Braswell

(December 5, 1945 – April 22, 2022)

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Williamsburg Baptist Church in Collins for Brenda Jo Melvin Braswell, 76, who passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022 t her residence.

Reverend Blake McDaniel and Reverend Ronnie Purser will officiate at the services with interment to follow in Williamsburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Williamsburg Baptist Church, 912 Lake Mike Conner Road, Collins, MS. 39428.

Pallbearers will be Dustin McDonald, Coby McDonald, Carter McDonald, Brett McDonald, Zack Burnham and Joey Rogers.

Mrs. Braswell was born December 5, 1945 in Magee, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Braswell retired after numerous years of service as a Respiratory Therapist in the healthcare industry.  She was an active member of the Williamsburg Baptist Church in Collins

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gray and Lottie Melvin; her first husband, Mark McDonald; one son, Greg McDonald; two sisters, Kate Melvin McRaney, and Joyce Melvin Briscoe; one brother, Bill Melvin; and one granddaughter, Laken McDonald.

Survivors include her husband of forty-four years, Buddy Braswell of Collins; two sons; Steve McDonald (Cindi) of El Dorado Arkansas, and Mel McDonald (Jaylyn) of Collins; one daughter-in-law; Angie Day (Robert) of Springdale Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren, Amber Callaway (Jacob), Shane Murphy (Catina), Clint Murphy, Robin Dunn (Heath), Dustin McDonald (Jorie), Katie Kent, Mara Hartsell, Coby McDonald (Keely), Carter McDonald, Carly Day, Brett McDonald, Zack Burnham (Dana), Danielle Bartholomew (Peter), Erica Hammonds, twenty-seven great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members.
