Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Seminary for Carey Mack Lowery, 75 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at his residence.
Reverend Stephen Hartman will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Trinity Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by _Mrs. Joan Summers, Mrs. Janet Sanford, and Mrs. Jean Lowery. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Trinity Baptist Church, 190 Ray Harvey Road, Seminary, MS. 39479.
The pallbearers will be Jonathan Thompson, Jamey Thompson, John Hemeter, Shaine Eaton, Douglas Freeman, and Jimmy Kitchens. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Sanford, Bob Smith, Kenny Joe Pickering, and Bill Holifield.
Mr. Lowery was born on August 24, 1948, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Kendall and Helen Mooney Lowery. He retired from the construction industry after thirty plus years of service as a rodbuster. Mr. Lowery proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Seminary.
Mr. Lowery was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He had a servant's heart and went out of his way to help others regardless of the task or need. Mr. Lowery loved a good laugh, whether it be a story told, joke, or prank. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by them all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kendall and Helen Mooney Lowery; his son, Gregory Shane Lowery; two brothers, Kendall Lowery Jr., and Kenneth Lowery; and one sister, Ann Lowery Crosby.
Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Ann Carter Lowery of Seminary, MS; one daughter, Amy Lowery Hemeter of Seminary; two sons, Jonathan Thompson (Christie) and Jamey Thompson (Kim), all of Seminary; eleven grandchildren, Angela McKayla Kitchens, Jerry Jay Kitchens, Jimmy Andrew Kitchens, Jamie Leigh Mooney, Summer Whitlock, Tori Passman, Patrick Kitchens, Kaley Thompson, Bella Thompson, J.T. Thompson, and Carter Ann Thompson; one brother, Roger Lowery of Seminary; three sisters, Louise Kelly of Gulfport, Barbara Jean Lowery and Darlene Lowery, both of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his memory to the Covington County Gideon's, P.O. Box 1562, Collins, MS, 39428
