Carl Kenneth "Ken" Sartin Sr.

(December 1, 1933 – January 7, 2022)

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive for Carl Kenneth "Ken" Sartin, Sr., 88 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Dr. Bob Phillips will officiate at the service with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive with military rites at graveside.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Becky Sellers.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022, at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 205 South 4 ^th Street, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119.

Pallbearers will be Carl Kenneth Sartin Jr., Steve Sartin, Jack Jinkins, Logan Sartin, Nic Sartin, and Cody Sartin.  Honorary pallbearers will be Zac Sartin and Duncan Sartin.

Mr. Ken was born on December 1, 1933 in Mount Olive, Mississippi to Joseph Lee Sartin Sr. and Alice Johnson Sartin.  He was one of nine children.  Mr. Ken graduated from Mount Olive High School and attended the Mississippi State University in Starkville.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Ken retired from the United States Postal Service in Magee after twenty-years of service as a rural mail carrier.  He was an active member of the Mount Olive First Baptist Church until his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee Sartin Sr. and Alice Johnson Sartin; three brothers, Joseph Lee Sartin Jr., Bob Sartin, and Floyd Sartin; and four sisters, Margaret Sartin, Lucille Sartin McQueen, Lois Sartin Johnson, and Sue Sartin Hardin.

Survivors include his devoted wife of sixty-one years, Mary Nell Sumrall Sartin of Mount Olive; one daughter, Margaret Sartin Jinkins, and her husband, Jack of Mendenhall; two sons, Carl Kenneth Sartin, Jr., and his wife Donna of Mount Olive, and Steve Sartin, and his wife, Emily of Madison; one sister, Virginia Sartin Lee, and her husband, Charles Ray of Mize; seven grandchildren, Logan Sartin, Cody Sartin, and his wife, Megan, Nic Sartin, Zac Sartin, Kayla Cluff, Gillian Jinkins, and Duncan Sartin; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Sartin, Kinley Delcid, and Knoah Delcid; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
