Carl Leonard Wise

(January 23, 1940 - November 26, 2024)

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2023, at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive for Carl Leonard Wise, 84 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Arrington Living Center in Collins.

Reverend Nelson Crozier will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McNair Cemetery in Mount Olive.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mount Olive will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 205 South 4th Street, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119.

The pallbearers will be his grandsons, Sam Sanford, Robert Sanford, Brodie Bass, Carson Wise, Braylon Bass, and Phillip Barth.

Mr. Wise was born on Tuesday, January 23, 1940, in Natchez, Mississippi to Leonard Eugene Wise and Evelyn Mae Frost Wise.  He was a retired farmer and cattleman.  Mr. Wise was a member of the Mount Olive First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary June Clark Wise; his parents, Leonard Eugene Wise and Evelyn Mae Frost Wise; his son-in-law, Stennett Zack Sanford; one grandson, Adam Zack Sanford; and one brother, Richard Wise.

Survivors include one son, Carlton Leonard Wise (Danielle) of Salem, Oregon; four daughters, Carla Wise Nichols (Mike), Teresa Wise Hinsz (Troy), and Sheila Wise Sanford, all of Mount Olive; and Kristie Wise  Bass (Kyle) of Sumrall; one sister, Carol Sue Wise of Mount Olive; eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth Nicole Nichols, Mary Hinsz Greer (Craig), Sam Sanford, Christopher Hinsz, Katie Sanford Barth (Phillip), Robert Sanford, Briar Bass, Carson Wise, Brodie Bass, Braylon Bass, and Carly Wise; two great-grandchildren, Grant Greer and Gracelyn Greer; and a host of other family members and friends.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his memory to the Mount Olive First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 143, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119.
