Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Collins for Carolyn Sue Norris, 71 of Collins, who passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at her residence.
Brother Brian Dickens, Brother Hal Hood, Brother Danny Forrest and Brother Ray MaGee will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by The Revelations Quartet. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Family will receive guests from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Monday, December 16, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Collins, 303 South Fourth Street, Collins, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Tracy Runnels, Stanley Runnels, Johnny Norris, Paul Smith, Chris Brister, Chad Savage, and Mike Welch. Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Harvey, Spencer Smith, Alex Sanford, and Grayson Brister.
Carolyn was born and raised in Mount Olive, Mississippi and was a graduate of Mount Olive High School. She made her career in banking and served many in her community for over forty-five years. She was well loved by her longtime customers and enjoyed serving the public. Carolyn was well known for her love for the Lord and ministered to many through her gospel singing career. Carolyn also enjoyed playing dominoes weekly with her dominoes ladies. She was a loving mother and nana. Her girls, grandchildren, and singing ministry were her world. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her and we can all have peace in knowing that she is completely healed and walking the streets of gold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Norris; her parents, Ray Runnels and Daisy Hester Runnels; one brother, Jimmy Don Runnels; and one brother-in-law, Jimmy Norris.
Survivors include her daughters, Leigh Ann Norris Smith (Paul) of Collins, and Melissa Norris Brister (Chris) of Collins; one brother, Stanley Runnels of Florence; five grandchildren, Landon, Spencer, Alex, Jensen and Grayson; one brother-in-law, Johnny Norris of Collins; three sister-in-laws, Wanda Hughes Baker of Seminary, Melba Aultman Norris of Collins and Judy Runnels of Hattiesburg and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
