Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Charlene McLeod Swanigan Hatfield, 93 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at her residence.
Reverend Alfred Balthazar will officiate at the services. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Theresa Jo Wade. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2016 and from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Mrs. Hatfield was born on May 3, 1923 in Mount Olive, Mississippi. She retired after thirty years of service as a waitress in the food service industry working in numerous restaurants throughout the area. Mrs. Hatfield was a member of the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Hobson McLeod and Ruby Lee Clark McLeod; her husband, John Glenville Swanigan; her son, John Robert Swanigan; one sister, Mamie Marie McLeod Bowen; and two brothers, Robert "Red" McLeod and Billy McLeod.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruby Jannette McDonald and her husband, Mike, Charlotte Marie Swanigan, and Frances Lea Swanigan, all of Collins; two grandchildren, Jennifer McDonald and Chris McDonald; and two great-grandchildren, Sidney Ducksworth and D'Andre Ducksworth.
