Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Charles Maniafred "C.M." Gingrich, 83 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at his residence.
Dr. Barry Armstrong and Reverend Tracey Hipps will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union South Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Lynn and Phillip Butler, and Patricia Gingrich. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and great-grandsons, Michael Burns, Jeremy Kirkland, Benjamin Kirkland, Alex Kirkland, Drew Kirkland, and Kyler Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Zeke Carter, Zach Carter, Remi Burns, and Parker Kirkland.
Mr. Gingrich was born on August 6, 1936 in Seminary, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Gingrich retired from David Cox Realtor and Developer, and Covington County Beat #2 after numerous years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He also enjoyed farming and gardening in his spare time. Mr. Gingrich was a member of the Union South Baptist Church in Seminary. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Easter Mooney Gingrich; one son, Charles Edward Gingrich; one daughter, Marianne Gingrich Speed; two sons-in-law, Curtis Burns and Larry Speed; a great-grandson, Will Carter; three sisters, Ester Gingrich Dickens, Nell Gingrich Clinton, and Paulette Gingrich Sidak; and three brothers, Douglas Gingrich, Vernon Gingrich, and David Gingrich.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Barbara Norris Gingrich of Seminary; one son, Roger Gingrich, and his wife, Patricia of Seminary; three daughters, Myra Gingrich Burns of Sumrall, Janet Gingrich Kirkland, and her husband, Ricky of Petal, and Carlena Speed Foster, and her husband, Michael of Clinton; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Olene Gingrich Bryant of Seminary; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
