Charles Grady Williams

(May 16, 1938 – September 27, 2026)

     Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Rock Hill Baptist Church, for Charles Grady Williams, 88 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at his residence.

     Reverend Nelson Crozier will officiate at the services with interment to follow at the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Monica Lea and Mrs. Becky Sellers. Billy M. King Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

     The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Rock Hill Baptist Church, 518 Rock Hill Road, Mount Olive, Mississippi, 39119.

     Pallbearers will be Steve Williams, John Anglin, James Ray Beal, Seth Lea, Steve Sanford, and Greg Kelly.

     Charles was born on May 16, 1938, in Jones County, Mississippi, to his parents, John Moses and Alta Orlea Underwood Williams. He was a retired construction supervisor for Zeon Chemicals. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. Charles was also a board member of the North Covington County Water Association. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him and he will be dearly missed.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, John Moses and Alta Orlea Underwood Williams; six brothers; J.O. Williams, Therrell Williams, Aaron Williams, Harbert Williams, Mondale Williams, and Jim Williams; and three sisters; Lavonne Shows, Lenora Shoemake, and Theresa Weaver.

     Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Vera Duncan Williams of Mount Olive; two sons; Michael Williams (Lea) of St. Francisville, Louisiana, and Mitchell Williams (Brenda) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one daughter, Melissa Darlene Taylor of Moss Point; one stepson, James Lea (Monica) of Mount Olive; one stepdaughter, Allison Rylee (Robert) of Richton; one brother, Torrence Williams of Jackson; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
