Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary for Charles Wayne Hosey, 61 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at his residence.
Reverend Chad Cummins will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mr. Brad Smith. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary. The church and funeral home will adhere to the state's protocol on social distancing and no more than ten people in the church at one time.
Pallbearers will be Thomas McCoy, Mike Ford, Jyntre Stroud, Shane Burke, Shelton Easterling, Bucky Lott, Tabb Leggett, and David Rutland. Honorary pallbearers will be Okatoma Cruisers Car Club and Employees of the Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi.
Wayne was born on February 12, 1959 in Collins, Mississippi to William Jack Hosey and Lonie Mae Dunn Wilson. He was employed by Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi and was one of their longest and most loyal employees with over twenty-two years of continuous professional service to the SEC Family and more than that to the industry. Wayne was one of the SEC pioneers as SEC got started in the overhead powerline industry. He was a stickler for detail, a great mentor to countless linemen, and loved working on equipment of all types.
Wayne was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary. He was also a member of the Okatoma Cruisers Car Club and one of his hobbies was rebuilding and refurbishing antique cars and trucks back to their glory. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, pawpaw, and brother. He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jack Hosey and Lonie Mae Dunn Wilson; one sister, Bobbie Gale Stroud; and one brother-in-law, Dwayne St. Germain.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Cindy St. Germain Hosey of Collins; four daughters, Brandy Hosey Easterling (Jonathan) of Seminary, Amanda Hosey Williams (Clayton) of Collins, Amber Holifield of Collins, and Amy Hosey Smith (Brent) of Sumrall; three grandchildren, Walker Easterling, Baylee Williams, and Tucker Smith; four sisters, Mae Nell Lott (Don) of Collins, Patricia "Trish" Seger of Seminary, Kathy "Kat" Raby (Bryant) of Collins, and Betty Jo Parmer (Ron) of Collins; two brothers, John Hosey (Tiny) and Oscar Hosey (Janet), all of Collins; his mother-in-law, Judy St. Germain of Collins; a sister-in-law, Lodie Knight (Greg) of Collins; a brother-in-law, Carl St. Germain (Mary) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
