A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Charles Estus Keys, 74 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at the Asbury House in Hattiesburg.
Reverend Tony Keys will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Keys, Brody Keys, Caleb Keys, Calder Mikell, Joey Pape, Michael Yawn, and Clay Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Keys.
Mr. Charles was a 1963 graduate of Collins High School and a 1967 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a former field audit agent for the Internal Revenue Services. He had been in private practice as a CPA in Collins for forty-four years. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served as the fiftieth president of the Collins Rotary Club. He was a long time member of Station Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Estus Keys, Sr.; and one brother, Walter Estus Keys, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-three years, Virginia Pape Keys of Collins; three sons, Rev. Tony Keys and wife Suzanne, of Mize, Paul Keys and wife Kristy, of Collins, and Brian Keys and wife Angelle, of Seminary; nine grandchildren, Tyler Keys, Caleb Keys, Brody Keys, Leighton Keys Mikell (Calder), Olivia Keys, Hailey Keys, Landyn Keys, Samantha Keys, and Emily Keys; one great-grandson, Jaxon Henry Keys; mother, Lela Mae Harvey Keys of Collins; one sister, Carolyn Keys Patterson of Laurel; and a host of other family members.
