Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary for Charles Ray McKinney, 75 of Seminary, who passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Merit Health-Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg.
Brother Joe Lott will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery in Seminary. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Coleman, Logan Waters, Chris Johnson, Chase Sanford, Grant McKinney, and Carson McKinney.
Mr. McKinney was born on March 26, 1945 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. McKinney retired after twenty five plus years of service as the wood yard manager for Laurel Wood, Inc. He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. McKinney was a member of the Sanford Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis Ray McKinney Sr. and Julia Faye Bond McKinney; and two brothers, Hollis Ray McKinney Jr. and Jimmy McKinney.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Marie Taormina McKinney of Seminary; one daughter, Tina McKinney Coleman, and her husband, Phillip of Seminary; one son, Gregory Charles McKinney, and his wife, Jennifer of Seminary; one sister, Rita Phelps of Gulfport; one sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Ann and Larry Parvin of Seminary; one brother-in-law, Jim Taormina of Seminary; seven grandchildren, Kayla Sanford (Chase), Morgan Johnson (Chris), Karley Marcello (Pete), Melissa McKinney, Kennedy Waters (Logan), Grant McKinney, and Carson McKinney; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
