Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Bullock Cemetery for Charles Samuel Mooney, 88 of Seminary, who passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Hattiesburg Health and Rehab in Hattiesburg.

Reverend Clay Allen officiated at the services with interment to follow in the Bullock Cemetery.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Mooney was born on December 10, 1930 in Sanford, Mississippi.  He was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw.  Mr. Mooney retired from the construction industry after fifty plus years of service.  Mr. Mooney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Green Mooney and Palmae Sanford Mooney; his wife, Mary Lucille Breland Mooney, one son, Kenneth Mooney Sr.;  a grandson, Kenneth "Jr" Mooney, Jr; one sister, Wanda Wilson; and two brothers, Ralph Mooney and Willie Bud Ellis.

Survivors include his four children, Betty Russell (Howard) of Sumrall, Jesse Mooney of Seminary, Ann Cagle (Mack) of Seminary, and Otis Mooney (Nadine) of Seminary; twelve grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren;  one great great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Shows of Seminary; three brothers, Howard Ellis and Billy Ellis, both of Seminary, and Doyle Ellis of Moselle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
