Charlie Floyd Yates
(September 24, 1934 – July 6, 2025)

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Williamsburg Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins, Mississippi for Charlie Floyd Yates, 90 of Collins, Mississippi who passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence.


Brother Ronnie Purser will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Williamsburg Methodist Church Cemetery in Collins. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.


The family will receive guests from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, Mississippi.


Pallbearers will be Kade Stennett, Mason Lambert, Tyler Harvey, Doug Dickenson, Andy Duckworth, and Philip Hux. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Kelly, Dr. Joe Johnston, Bobby Barnes, Charlie Bill Bonds, and members of the Gum Swamp Hunting Club.


Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, sports and growing tomatoes. He was a hard worker and owned and operated Collins Heating and Air Condition until he was physically unable to do so. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Charlie was a friend to many and will be missed by all who knew him as "Charlie Floyd." Everyone had a Charlie Floyd story, and he went above and beyond to make people comfortable in his heating and air condition business. He loved gospel music and spending time with his family.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Lela Grayson Yates; and two brothers, Burch Yates and Grayson Yates.


Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Mary McRaney Yates of Collins; one son, Chuck Yates (Marsha) of Collins; one daughter, Beverly Yates Stennett (William) of Mount Olive; four grandchildren, Kade Stennett (Abbi) of Mount Olive, Sydney Lambert (Mason) of Mount Olive, Amanda Jones (Ransom) of Seminary, and Todd Moore of Collins; four great-grandchildren, Saylor Grace Sennett, Kadee Rae Sennett, Whitley Yates, and a soon-to-be great-granddaughter, Valley Lambert; one brother, Carol Yates of Brandon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
