Chellie Lou Pittman
(January 19, 1936 – January 2, 2026)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield for Chellie Lou Pittman, 89 of Sumrall, who passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Covington County Hospital in Collins, Ms.

Reverend Johnny Williams and Reverend Brad Roberts will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Pittman Cemetery in Bassfield.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Haley Roberts.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Santee Baptist Church, 447 Santee Baptist Church Road Prentiss, MS. 39474.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McCray, Ashton Jones, Mikey Pittman, Jon Woodruff, Steven Pittman Jr. and Jason Pittman, Jr.

Mrs. Pittman was born on January 19, 1936, in Bassfield, Mississippi, to Lucas Terrell Norris and Alma Mae Graves Norris.  She was a member of the Santee Baptist Church.  Mrs. Pittman was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucas Terrell Norris and Alma Mae Graves Norris; her husband, Clifton Richard Pittman; two sons, Ricky Pittman, and Robert Pittman; two brothers, Burkett Norris, and Clyde Norris; and two sisters, Gloria Jean Boleware, and Emma Ramagos.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Pittman (Patricia) of Collins, Chris  Pittman (Cindy) of Sumrall, Steven Pittman of Sumrall, and Jason Pittman (Marie) of Sumrall; one daughter, Patricia Carter McCray of Seminary; two brothers, Virgil Norris of Bassfield, and Billy Norris of Bassfield; three sisters, Dimple Williamson of Seminary; Myrtia  Weber of Bassfield, and Alma Strong of Batchlor, Louisiana;  eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
