Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Connie Williams Smith, 95 of Seminary, who passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville.
Reverend Steve Mackender and Reverend Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Sadie Jordan. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was born on February 18, 1924 in Sanford, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Smith retired from Amalgamated Clothing Company in Hattiesburg after twenty years of services as a seamstress. She was a Christian and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Seminary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney W. Smith; her parents, Charlie and Velma Byrd Williams; one son, Billy C. Smith; two brothers, Archie Ray Williams and Charlie Junior Williams; and one sister, Bernice Williams.
Survivors include seven children, Kathleen Jackson (Billy L.) and Jaine Lee Rowell (Wilden), both of Seminary, Carolyn Williams (Rick) of Laurel, Margaret Talbot-Mundell (William) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sue Hartfield (Ronald) of Petal, Barney T. Smith of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Johnny Steve Smith (Christine) of Prairieville, Louisiana; a grandson, Carl F. Smith, and a great-grandson, Nathen Lee Smith, both of Seminary, that she adopted and raised as her own; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
