Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Daniel Charles Quick, 76 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Collins.

Dr. Brett Golson and Reverend Dorman Laird will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Leaf River Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins with masonic and military rites at graveside.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Ann Rogers and Mr. Jerry Williamson.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Brett Quick, Andrew Quick, David Quick, Bill Perkins, James "Cornbread" Walker, and Jay Dees.

Mr. Quick was born on August 21, 1943 in Laurel, Mississippi.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  Mr. Quick was a graduate of the Collins High School and the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's of Science Degree.  He retired from the State of Mississippi as a state inspector of LC Gas after fifteen years of service.  Mr. Quick was a member of the Leaf River Baptist Church.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.  Mr. Quick was a member of the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge Post #34 and the Hamasa Shriner's in Meridian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, D.C. Quick and Orpah "Peggy" Dees Quick; a son, Dan Anderson "Mac" McIntosh, IV; and a brother, Allen Quick.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Beverly Wilhite Quick of Collins; two sons, Daniel Charles "Dan" Quick Jr., and his wife, Laurie of Byhalia, Mississippi, and Steven Lamar Quick, and his wife, Teresa of Beavercreek, Ohio; one daughter, Aundrea M. Thames, and her husband, Kyle of Columbus, Texas; one brother, Jamie Quick, and his wife, Patricia of Collins; a sister-in-law, Cindy Quick of Gonzales, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Brett Quick (Emily), Lauren Quick, Ashtyn Quick, Alissa Quick Hobi (Nate), Andrew Quick, David Quick, Anna Marie Quick, and Makenzie Thames; one great-granddaughter, Maddie Claire Quick; and a host of nieces and nephews.
