Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Dannie H. Drennan, 86 of Seminary, who passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at his residence.
Brother George Moore, Brother Danny Forrest, and Brother Glenn Shoemake will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary. Special music will be provided by Susan and Ricky Deen. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Highway 49, Collins, MS 39428.
Pallbearers will be Greg Craft, Chris Boleware, David Boyette, Rob Lawhon, Keith Bullock, and Daniel Santos. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Blackwell, Lazaro Silva and Billy Frank Dossett.
Mr. Drennan was born on October 11, 1935 in Seminary, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Drennan retired as a security officer for the Mississippi Department of Corrections after numerous years of service. He was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist Church in Seminary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margie Carter Drennan; a son-in-law, Ray Abercrombie; two brothers, Charles Drennan and Ben Drennan; and two sisters, Eula Drennan Duckworth and Thelma Drennan Craft.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Lucy Annette Sanford Drennan of Seminary; two daughters, Dannie Jean Abercrombie of Collins and Nancy Drennan Silva, and her husband, Lazaro of Seminary; his adopted son, Johnny Ray McDonald, and his wife, Kristy of Collins; six grandchildren, Josh Blackwell (Ashley), Angie Lawhon (Rob), Camila Silva (Daniel Santos), Patricia Silva, Jeremiah Silva, and Angelynna Silva; seven great-grandchildren, Mallory Blackwell, Brantley Blackwell, Abby Beth Stringer, Annalee Stringer, Luke Lawhon, Payton Lawhon, and Giovanna DeAlmedia; one brother, John Rayford Drennan of Brandon; and three sisters, Frances Drennan Battesse of Miami, Oklahoma, Elna Drennan Hardy, and Nell Drennan, both of Hattiesburg; a sister-in-law, Edna Sanford of Seminary; a special friend, Sonya McNair of Mount Olive; his canine companion, Champ; and a host of nieces and nephews.
