David Alan Gentry

(June 12, 1984 - May 4, 2021)

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Collins City Cemetery in Collins for David Alan Gentry, 36 of Decatur, who passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his residence.

Reverend Ken Regan will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gentry was born on June 12, 1984 in Laurel, Mississippi.  He was a loving son, husband, step-father, and nephew.  He graduated from Presbyterian Christian School and the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science.  Mr. Gentry was a Quality Assurance Manager in the Manufacturing industry.  He was a member of the Highland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Gentry; a brother, Richard Daniel Gentry; his maternal grandparents, O.C. and Justine Duckworth; and his paternal grandparents, Joe and Eloise Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Lewis Gentry of Decatur; his mother, Patricia Duckworth Gentry of Laurel; two step-sons, Cameron Butler and Noah Butler, both of Decatur; his uncles and aunts, David and Shirley Duckworth of Petal, Randy Gentry and Carolyn Bynum, both of Taylorsville; and a host of other family members and friends.
