Debra Ann Norris Jackson

(July 4, 1956 – June 21, 2020)

Graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary for Debra Ann Norris Jackson, 63, of Seminary, who passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, surrounded by her loving family.

Reverend Barry Armstrong will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Seminary.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Norris, Greg McKinney, Carson McKinney, Gage Smith, Ladean Byrd, Shay Bullock, Eric Atkinson, and Darrell Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Alexander Wade Cobb, Sr., Chris Knight, Josh Norris, and Jason Norris.

Debra was born July 4, 1956, in Baytown, Texas.  Her family would later move to Seminary, Mississippi, which is where she made her home.  She was a 1974 Graduate of Seminary High School, and attended 2 years at Jones County Junior College.  She was a loving wife, mother, memaw (Maw), sister, and friend.  She worked almost twenty years for Forrest General Hospital, starting as a PBX Operator, and retiring as the 4T Unit Secretary.  Her hobbies were spending time with her family, especially her babies (grandbabies), and doing crafts.  Her special talents were with her floral arrangements and she loved making them for her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sam "Doc" Norris; two twin daughters, Lauren Denise Jackson and Lisa Diane Jackson; and one sister, Shelia Jo Norris Hodge.

Survivors include her loving husband of thirty-five years, Larry Jackson of Seminary; mother, Dorothy Mae Shores Norris of Seminary; one son, Joshua Norris of Seminary; two daughters, Jennifer Jackson McKinney and husband, Greg of Seminary and Kasi Jackson Smith and husband, Gage of Seminary; eight grandchildren, Alexander Wade Cobb, Sr. and wife, Lauren, Christopher Audwin "Audi" Norris, Morgan Johnson, Melisa McKinney, Grant McKinney, Carson McKinney, Bentley Smith, and Kylar Smith; six great-grandchildren, Alexander Wade Cobb, Jr., Eleanor Levy Ann Cobb, Ayden Eisworth, Jameson Johnson, Adalyn Davis, and Kohen Davis; one sister, Carla Norris Bullock and husband, Richard of Seminary; one brother, Johnny Norris and wife, Jean of Brookhaven; and a host of other family members and friends.
