Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Deloris Ladnier Peden, 88 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Arrington Living Center in Collins, Mississippi.
Reverend Brian Dickens will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Reverend Brian Dickens. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3202 Highway 49, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Nicholson, Evan Smith, Chris Keen, Joshua Thomas, Hagen Hinton, and Bruce Holder.
Mrs. Peden was born on June 17, 1936, in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Julius and Daisy Clayton Ladnier. She retired from the business office at the Covington County Hospital after twenty-five years of service. Mrs. Peden was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Bunko with the Sunshine Girls and playing Bingo with the residents of the Arrington Living Center. Mrs. Peden was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Peden; one son, Gary L. Peden; her parents, Julius and Daisy Clayton Ladnier; and three brothers, Julius Edward Ladnier, Jimmie Dale Ladnier, and Ronnie Wayne Ladnier.
Survivors include two sons, Frank D. Peden (Kim) of Clinton, MS., and Robert A. Peden (Kelly) of Meridian, MS,; one daughter, Kathy Peden Nicholson (Wiley Dan) of Collins, MS; two brothers, Bobbie Ladnier (Norma)of Van Cleave, MS. and Donnie Ladnier (Debbie) of Biloxi, MS; three sisters, Jannette Ladnier Crimm (William) of Biloxi, MS, Sherry Ladnier Ryan (James) of Ocean Springs, MS. and Jackie Ladnier Taylor (Melvin) of Van Cleave, MS.; nine grandchildren, Chris Keen (Angela), Katelyn Thomas (Joshua), Ashley Clark (Bruno), Kasey Toombs (Lee), Alec Jones (Brett), Damon Ford, Madison Ford, Daniel Nicholson (Meagan), and Brandi Smith (Evan); twenty great-grandchildren, Sophia Clark Harris (Parker), Kaleb Atkinson, Cade Clark, Ford Clark, Raven Toombs, Lance Toombs, Mallery Camp, Landon Toombs, Brody Keen, Kylie Keen, Mason Thomas, Addie Jo Thomas, Brianna Shivers, Tyler Nicholson, Hagen Hinton, Will Nicholson, Harper Smith, Wyleigh Brooke Nicholson, Stringer Smith, and Jaxxon Porter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
