Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church for Denton David Knight, 34 of Seminary, who passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Dr. Tim Hubbard will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mount Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Susan Deen and Mr. Joel Thames. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church in Collins.
Pallbearers will be John Hemeter, Brandon McQueen, Jonathan Easterling, Russell Bullock, Steven Sanford, Mike Allmon, and Brandon Hynum.
Denton was born on September 8, 1982 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was a loving son, father, and brother. Denton was a graduate of the Seminary High School Class of 2001, and attended Jones County Junior College and Hinds Community College. He was a welder by trade and worked for numerous companies throughout his career. Denton was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Seminary
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis David Knight; his maternal grandmother, Charlotte Hughes; and his paternal grandparents, Dennis and Obie Knight.
Survivors include his mother, Sherry Hughes Knight of Seminary; his son, David Blaine Knight of Sumrall; his fiancee', Candyce McSwain of New Augusta; one sister, Jeanie Knight Sloan and her husband, Michael of Hattiesburg; maternal grandparents, Franklin and Rachel Hughes of Seminary; one niece, Ashtin Sloan; three nephews, Kyle Sloan, Kaden Sloan, and Austin Sloan; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family members, and friends.
