Doris Leach DaQuila

(July 2, 1933 - September 19, 2026)

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit for Doris Leach DaQuila, 93 of McComb, who passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Covington Ridge Assisted Living Center in Collins, Mississippi.

Dr. David Millican will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb. Special music will be provided by Mr. Chanse McMinn and Mr. Ricky Lee.  Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home in Summit will be in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2026, at the Catchings-Sharkey Funeral Home, 1023 Old Brookhaven Road, Summit, Mississippi, 39666.

Her pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mrs. DaQuila was born on July 2, 1933, in Florien, Louisiana to Moses Vandy Leach and Oma Busby Leach. She graduated from Florien High School Class of 1951 and went to work immediately for South Central Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. Mrs. DaQuila retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company and A.T. & T. after forty years of service. She was a member of the South McComb Baptist Church in McComb. Mrs. DaQuila was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and will be dearly missed by her family members and friends. She found great joy in working in her yard, tending to her flowers, and keeping a beautiful home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses Vandy Leach and Oma Busby Leach; her husband, Philip “Buddy” DaQuila, Jr.; two brothers, Lester W. Leach and Dan G. Leach; and three sisters, Coda Leach Wright, June Leach Martin, and Louise Leach Davis.

Survivors include two sons, Philip DaQuila, III of Summit and Chris A. DaQuila of Collins; two brothers, Jack Mack Leach of West Monroe, Louisiana and Jimmy Leach of Many, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
