Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive for Doris Lucille Norris Hart, 88 of Mize, who passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.
Reverend David McCord will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the New Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Mrs. Hart was born on November 5, 1931 in Mount Olive, Mississippi. She was a loving mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed by her family. Mrs. Hart retired from the Mize Attendance Center after twenty plus years of service as a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the New Sardis Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Everett T. Norris and Lula Jones Norris; four brothers, Sam Norris, Haskel Norris, Tommy Norris, and Frank Norris; three sisters, Faye Ishee, Grace McKee, and Ernestine "Belle" Eubanks; and two grandsons, Daniel Hart and Chris Whittington..
Survivors include her six children, Oscar Hart Jr. of Mize, Linda Whittington of Lawton, Oklahoma, Doris Bush , and her husband, Jerry of Kingsport, Tennessee, Ira Glenn Hart of Mize, Beverly Cook of Raleigh, Danny Hart of Mize; one sister, Evelyn Kinstley of Jackson; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
