Doris Rutland Puckett

(January 28, 1949 – February 10, 2021)

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Blakely Creek Baptist Church in Collins for Doris Rutland Puckett, 72 of Collins, who passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

Elder Reece Douglas, Jr. will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Blakely Creek Baptist Church in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the Blakely Creek Baptist Church in Collins.

Pallbearers will be Dwayne Rutland, David Joe Rutland, Michael Rutland, Ty Marcus Rutland, Jesse Runnels, Christopher Lee, Justin Loftin, and Jessie Rutland.

Mrs. Puckett was born on January 28, 1949 in Magee, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Puckett was a homemaker by trade.  She was a member of the Blakely Creek Baptist Church in Collins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Phil Puckett; and her parents, J.P. and Emma Jean Duff Rutland.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Dearman, and her husband, Carlton of Collins; one son, James Calvin Jordan, and his fiancé, Amanda Abernathy of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild, four brothers, Clinton Rutland and Richard Rutland, both of Collins, David Rutland and Bobby Rutland, both of Mount Olive; and a host of nieces and nephews.
