Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home in Collins for Dorothy Mae Dearman, 76 of Collins, who passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at her residence in Collins, MS.
Reverend Wes Garner and Brian Brister will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Collins City Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Brian Brister and Kelly Shows. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, May 6, 2024 at the Billy M. King Funeral Home, 3202 US 49, Collins, MS.
Pallbearers will be Jimmie "DoeDoe" Dement, Kermit "Tody" Dement, Stephen Dement, Christen Dement, Jeremy Smith, Jimmy Dearman, Ricky Dearman, and Kevin Burton.
Dorothy was married to Buck for sixty years. She loved cooking, baking and spending time with her family.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.N. "Buck" Dearman; parents, Alex Dement and Clara Mae McArthur Dement; one brother, Jimmy Reece Dement; four sisters, Larue Smith, Reedie Helen Brady, Dollie Hill and Frances McMahan.
Survivors include her two daughters, Rena Dearman McCardle (Chris) of Seminary, and Lisa Dearman Shows (Maurice) of Collins; three brothers, Kermit Dement (Grace) of Sumrall, Junior Dement (Judy) of Sumrall, Ervin Dement (Wanda) of Biloxi; five sisters, Eveline Brister of McComb, Kathy Mitchell (Charles) of Petal, Shirley Nichols (Tommy) of Hattiesburg, Susie Burton of Hattiesburg, Linda Beech (Robert) of Hattiesburg; two grandsons, Austin Banks (Rachel) of Purvis and Adam Banks (Brelyn) of Moselle; three granddaughters, Amber Black (Brandon) of Collins, Anna McCardle (Jacob) of Moselle and Amber McCardle of Seminary; one great-grandson, Bentley Black; and one great- granddaughter, Ada Mae Banks.
