Dorothy Jean
Feazelle Owens
May 8, 1953 – January 12, 2021
On May 8, 1953 at Covington County Hospital, the late Leo and Mattie Spencer Feazelle welcomed Dorothy Jean Feazelle Owens, the oldest of their four children, to their union.
Dorothy was taken to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, aunt, niece, and friend, but most importantly she was an active and faithful woman of God who served Him faithfully. She was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. Dorothy was employed with the City of Collins for 20 years, but she was also an avid baker who had a natural green thumb and enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants. Those who know her best also know she loved and cherished her children and grandchildren and was so proud of all of their accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Leo Feazelle, and Mrs. Mattie Feazelle; a brother, Mr. Malcolm Feazelle; and a son, Mr. Joseph Smith.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memory, her husband, Mr. Jerry Owens; one daughter; Katasha Barron of Gulfport, MS; two sons, Shawn (Vickie) Feazelle of Diamondhead, MS and Kenny Owens of Collins; three brothers, Leon (Bobbie) Feazelle and Levon "Chubby" Feazelle, all of Collins, Mississippi, and Louis Martin of St. Louis, Missouri.
She also leaves behind three grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
