Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Dorothy F. McDonald, 84 of Collins, who passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Jefferson Davis County Extended Care Home in Prentiss.
Reverend Grover Gunn will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the McDonald Chapel Cemetery in Collins. Special music will be provided by Mr. Jeremy Johnson. Billy M, King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Wade Bryant, Jason Bryant, Adam Bryant, Robbie Bryant, Kenny Speed, Michael Speed, Chance Speed, Stoney Bryant, Scott Byrne, Logan Byrne, Colton McDonald, Braden Purvis, Evan McDonald, and Cody Eubanks.
Mrs. McDonald was born on December 28, 1933 in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. She was a loving wife, mother, maw maw, and granny. Mrs. McDonald retired after twenty plus years of service as the deli manager at the Bryant's Grocery Store in Seminary. She also ran a daycare in her home for numerous years. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the McDonald Chapel Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.P. Hutchinson and Dorothy Inez Saulters Hutchinson; her husbands, R.C. Bryant and Archie McDonald; two sons, Rickey Bryant, and Allen Bryant; two grandchildren, David Allen Bryant, and Brandy Speed; and three siblings, Danny Hutchinson, Vera McRaney, and Pat Schell.
Survivors include her five children, Jerry Bryant of Topeka, Kansas; Robert Bryant, and his wife, Tammy of Collins; Sandra Ingram , and her husband, Bob of Mount Olive; Tony Byrne, and his fiancee', Mary of Collins; and Dan McDonald, and his wife, Robyn of Collins; two daughters-in-law, Judy Bryant of Bassfield, and Jeanie Bryant Griffith, and her husband, Weber of Collins; three brothers, Grady Hutchinson, and his wife, Rose of Mize, David Hutchinson , and his wife, Martha, and Jimmy Dale Hutchinson, and his wife, Kim, all of Bassfield; one sister, Hazel Jundas, and her husband, Sammy of New Orleans, Louisiana; twenty six grandchildren; forty two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
