Dorothy Jean Sanford Gill

(December 6, 1932 – July 27, 2020)

A Private Family Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins for Dorothy Jean Sanford Gill, 87 of Collins, who passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Landmark of Collins.

Brother Tim Saucier will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be family members and friends.

Mrs. Gill was born on December 6, 1932 in Collins, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Mrs. Gill was a retired retail clerk for different department stores in her career.  She was a member of the Plainway Baptist Church in Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Sanford and Gene Gill; her parents, J.D. Sullivan and Selma Meadows Sullivan; and one sister, Fleeta Beth Thomas.

Survivors include three sons, Gary D. Sanford, and his wife, Susan of Collins, Paul Brant Sanford, and his wife, Cheryl, and James Philip Sanford, and his wife, Debbie, all of Ellisville; three sisters, Georgena Lott of Collins, Betty Walker, and her husband, Ronnie of Nicholls, Georgia, and Eva Malcolm, and her husband, Charles of Waxhaw, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Colby Sanford, Lance Sanford, Levi Sanford, Jett Sanford, Blake Sanford, and Brooke Sanford; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews
