Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Mount Olive for Douglas Wayne Keyes, 70 of Mount Olive, who passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Covington County Hospital in Collins.
Reverend Dewitt Bain and Reverend Steve Clark will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Olive. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Tammy Bynum and Mrs. Teresa Windham. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 795 Highway 532, Mount Olive, MS 39119.
Pallbearers will be Dillon Keyes, Chris Knotts, Nathan Knotts, Tony Knotts, Jamie Sharp, Jared Bynum, and Tyson Bynum.
Mr. Keyes was born on February 12, 1951 in Magee, Mississippi to Hershel T. and Mamie Gilpin Keyes. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, and brother. Mr. Keyes proudly served his country in the United States Navy for eighteen years. He then worked in the heavy construction industry for over twenty-two years before his retirement. Mr. Keyes was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Mount Olive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel T. Keyes.
Survivors include his mother, Mamie Gilpin Keyes of Mount Olive; two sons, Daniel Wilson Keyes, and his wife, Andrea of Forest and Jacob Keyes of Magee; one daughter, Melisa Keyes Bankston, and her husband, Joseph of Collinsville; seven grandchildren, Dillon Thor Keyes, Daniel Wilson Keyes, Jr., Chase Sorham, Hannah Keyes, Haley Keyes, Kassie Keyes, and Zachary Bankston; three sisters, Glenda Keyes Smith and Wanda Keyes Clark, and her husband, Bennie, all of Mount Olive, and Beth Keyes James, and her husband, Dale of Mathiston; one brother, James W. Keyes of Manchester, Ohio, and a host of nieces and nephews.
