Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Edith Juanita Rutland Cook, 94 of Collins, who passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the Covington County Hospital.
Reverend Bob Lytle will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Parish Family Cemetery in Sumrall. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.
Pallbearers will be family members and friends.
Mrs. Cook was born on January 23, 1923 in Collins, Mississippi. She retired as a medical records clerk after numerous years of service in the Medical Records Department of the Magee General Hospital and the Covington County Hospital. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Preston Rutland and Virgie Hudson Rutland; and her sister, Willie Vee Parish.
Survivors include one daughter, Frances Cook Matheny of Ashtabula, Ohio; one son, Charlie Cook and his wife, Kathy of Biloxi; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
