Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Union Line Cemetery in Soso, Mississippi, for Edna Mae Shows, two weeks short of 98, of Seminary, who passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at her residence.
Reverend P.J. Weeks will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Union Line Cemetery in Soso. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3302 Hwy 49, Collins, Mississippi.
Mrs. Shows was born in 1924. She was a devoted mother, homemaker, and wife. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, and traveled extensively around the world. A servant to humanity, she worked for many years as a registered nurse. She was kind, compassionate, and loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father, M.L. Valentine; mother, Esther Gunter Valentine; brothers, W.M. Valentine and Cleatus Valentine; sisters, Macel Sharpe, Mattie Michels and Oleta Buckley.
Survivors include her husband of nearly seventy years, Thomas Elton Shows; four sons, Thomas Shows II, Donald Shows (Trish), Michael Shows and James Shows (Chely); one daughter, Cynthia Shows; one sister-in-law, Betty Valentine; seven grandchildren, Tom Shows III, Stacey Hodel, William Shows, Melissa Shows, Julie Miner, Sarah Shows and J.T. Shows; one great-grandson, Sean Hodel; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
