Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church for Edward Lee Confer, 69 of Collins who passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence.
Reverend West Garner, Reverend Brian Dickens, and Reverend Brent Wade will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites at graveside.
Special music will be provided by Mrs. Pauline Lightsey, Reverend West Garner, and Reverend Brian Dickens. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Wade Clark, Jonathan Clark, Adam Clark, Michael Lightsey, Eric Lightsey, Darrell Lightsey, Chris McDaniel, Terry Parker, Drew Hendry, Ronnie Robinson, Wyman Brown, Greg Brown, and Todd Dupre'. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Confer was born on June 18, 1947 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He retired from Murphy Oil Company as a mechanic and electrician after fourteen years of service. Mr. Confer proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member and deacon at the Cold Springs Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hensyl "Ike" Confer and Sarah Vando Confer; and one daughter, Jennifer Confer Little.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-eight years, Ginger Lightsey Confer of Collins; two daughters, Catherine Confer Myers and her husband, Craig of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Marjorie Confer Gerald of Collins; two sisters, Elizabeth Bennett and her husband, Lynn and Dottie Butler, all of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Michael Confer, Ashtin Massengale, Andrew Rushing, Hallie Cook, Amber Little, Erin Little, Morgan Myers, and Toni Owens; six great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Massengale, Landon McGlocklin, Gracie Ganz, Alex Owens, Maisey Confer, and Lynnley Rushing; and a host of other family members and friends.
