Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins for Elaine Gentry, 69 of Collins, who passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Brother Reece Douglas Jr. and Brother Doug Barber will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.  Special music will be provided by Mrs. Leigh Ann Dewease.  Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins.

Pallbearers will be F.M. Smith, Butch Brown, Scott Brown, Derrick Brown, Jon Chisholm, and Cameron Spencer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Dickerson, and Brad Wade.

Mrs. Gentry was born on October 2, 1950 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Mrs. Gentry and her husband, Joel were the owners and operators of Cedar Hill Farms.  She was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Dudley; and four nephews, Prescott Brown, Nicholas Dudley, Audi Lowery, and Gentry Reed.

Survivors include her husband of forty-nine years, Joel Gentry of Collins; her mother, Dorothy Dudley of Hattiesburg; two daughters, T.J. Gentry Sanders, and her husband, James of Florence, and Candice Elaine Gentry of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Sue Smith, and her husband, F.M. of Laurel, and Gail Brown, and her husband, Butch of Hattiesburg; two brothers, David Dudley, and his wife, Susan of Hattiesburg, and Lynn Dudley, and his wife, Tracy of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren, Morgan Sanders, Thomas Bland, Savanna Sanders, and Ronni Sanders; one great-grandson, Wade French; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Prescott Eduardo Brown Scholarship Fund, Jones County Junior College, 900 Court Street, Ellisville, Mississippi, 39437.
